"Sweetness" was written and recorded on Thanksgiving Day 2017 as a response to recent events in my life. I've been listening to a lot of Steely Dan lately and felt their nonchalant attitude to be a comforting approach to songwriting. Their lyrics, however, tend to deal with fabricated characters whereas this song is sort of a diary entry which has helped to keep my spirits alive during this time of uncertainty.
